| March 9th, 2010
Before purchasing a trampoline there are various things you are concerned about. The first thing that comes to mind is the safety of the trampolines. SAfety of the trampolines are definitely something to think about if it being used by children and the second thing to think about is the size of the trampolines. What size trampoline should I buy?
Safety of a trampoline
The safety of the trampoline seems to be on a high, because in 2002 the total number of hospital visits due to trampoline accidents was 11,500 and in 2009 the total visit was 3,000, which is a great improvement. The Uk trampoline industries are now looking for more safety ideas to decrease the total accidents of 2009 to the very minimal. The research also shows that most of these accidents have occured at home other than the gym or sports hall.
What should you really look for when purchasing trampolines?
Always buy a trampoline which has safety nets and pads, which completely covers the frames, springs and hooks. Most accidents occur to children as they do not have balance and control over the jumps on the trampoline and sometimes land on the frames and hurt themselves. The safety pads should protect your children unbalanced fall.
Where to you keep the trampoline?
To be honest this depends on which size trampoline you want to purchase depending on the size of your garden or whether you want it inside the house. There are 8ft trampolines to 14ft trampolines you can buy from. If you live in a flat and do not have a garden then you can always go for rebounders (mini trampolines). Rebounders are used for exercise and fitness programs and on top of that you will be able to use this in your garage or your room. You will also be able to carry it away on holiday if you don’t want to lose your fitness regime.
Children and trampoline definitely is a risky combination but if you keep an eye on your children while using they use the trampoline the accidents can be stopped.
